He walks the dogs. I move the world. He does the mornings. I place everything in motion.

The person who cooks dinner doesn’t clear the table or kitchen.
The person who washes clothes doesn’t dry, fold or restock wardrobes.

He walks the dogs
because everyone else forgot their promise to walk them.

He wakes the kids.
Feeds the dogs.
Cuts apples.
Drives them to school.
Lets me sleep in.

I manage the calendar.
The appointments.
The payments.
The pickups.
The returns.

I know when each lesson starts
and how long it takes to get from school to ballet to taekwondo
without missing tutoring.
